Another major leak says NSA collecting millions of text messages

Based on a new data leak by Edward Snowden, the National Security Agency is collecting 200 million text messages per day from around the world. This spoofing is based on the program code-named as the Dishfire.

The information collected includes all kinds such as the travel details of the people and even banking transactions. By this program, NSA collects texts of random people from different places. Thus, it may even include your texts. The program called Prefer is used to analyse this data.

The NSA has denied the allegations of the Dishfire program and has said to The Guardian that it has active surveillance only at foreign targets.

According to the reports, NSA had collected 5 million missed call alerts, 800,000 financial transactions, over 110,000 business card names and many more.

Here rises a question whether this is called Freedom? Privacy concerns are rising at an alarming rate. But there is some innovation that can keep it on control. Read about the Blackphone, a privacy-focused Smartphone, here.

Blackphone – A private Android

Geeksphone and Silent Circle is in a collaborative work to bring out the world's first privacy oriented Smartphone, Blackphone. The phone is an answer to the alleged NSA spoofing. The main goal of the phone is to provide the maximum level of privacy to the user.

The phone is powered by an Android-based OS made by the Silent Circle, called the PrivatOS. The operating System is specially designed such that the user can communicate securely via phone calls or texts, online chats, browse internet with anonymity, etc. Since Silent Circle already provides services such as encrypted calling, messaging and file sharing, integrating them to the phone would be an ease.
The website says that,

Blackphone has features necessary to do all the things you need, as well as all the things you want, while maintaining your privacy and security and giving you freedom to choose your career, your apps, and your location.

The hardware and the details such as whether Silent Circle will charge for its services are not known yet. The phone is said to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona next month. The company says that the phone will work on any GSM network and will be available for pre-order at MWC.
